Automotive Artificial Intelligence (AAI) GmbH is an innovative technology company that was founded in 2017 and is headquartered in Berlin. Our goal at AAI is to make the development of highly automated driving safer and more efficient. We specialize in developing our own software solutions, including the simulation platform AAI Replicar, and offer related services such as data labeling.

Please note that we have established a guideline for our colleagues to spend a minimum of four days per week at the office to ensure consistent collaboration and team connectivity.

Your Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Design and develop software algorithms, code in C++, and optimize software performance, ensuring the reliability and robustness of systems.
  • Contribute to the definition and development of safety-critical systems within automotive software, emphasizing the importance of building models for safety arguments.
  • Engage in the development and definition of APIs and communication protocols between software modules and distributed servers, with a focus on meeting automotive industry safety standards.
  • Collaborate with product owners and engineering teams to transform research into market-ready products, incorporating safety standards where relevant.
  • Participate in the community of best practice, balancing individual skills within the community and focusing on areas critical to automotive safety as needed.
  • Lead hypothesis development, including testing criteria and implementation concepts, with attention to safety models in critical systems where applicable.
  • Conduct statistical analysis through modeling, simulation, and testing to ensure software meets required performance and safety standards.

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or an excellent master’s degree in computer science/physics/mathematics/chemistry, with a specialization in areas relevant to AI/machine learning/deep learning, mathematics, or statistics.
  • At least 3 years of industry experience in technical development, with a portion of this time spent working on safety-critical systems in the automotive sector preferred.
  • Excellent programming skills in Python/C++ and familiarity with machine learning tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Caffe, etc.
  • Good understanding of database systems, experience with Git and distributed version control systems.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards for Automotive safety (e.g., ISO 26262) and V&V platforms will be a significant advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and a high level of attention to detail, with an ability to apply these skills in areas impacting safety and reliability.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate on projects with safety implications.
